With the serious effect COVID-19 is having on the world, it’s paramount that businesses you trust are doing all they can to prevent the spread of this virus and practice social distancing. Although everyone needs to stay quarantined, some circumstances may require you to leave the house like repairing your vehicle.
Just to be clear, your health and safety come first. We don’t want our customers to bring their vehicle in if they feel sick or unsafe. We’re practicing all the recommended procedures and precautions to ensure our customers are safe from catching COVID-19. Here are a few of the steps we’re taking to practice social distancing.
1. Virtual Quotes
Technology has become a huge part of our world, and there isn’t a better time for businesses to make use of it while most people are staying at home. For Bemac, we’re providing customers with virtual quotes and consultation.
When you request a quote through our website, you’re allowed to submit three photos of the damaged area (up to 10 MB maximum in total). When taking the pictures, ensure one is from far away, showing the overall condition of the vehicle. The other two should be more detailed images showing the exact damage or area that needs repair.
Along with the images, you’ll need to state the make, model and VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) of your vehicle. We also need a list of any issues with the car and instructions of what you want done or things to leave alone.
2. Disinfecting Areas
With new cars and trucks coming in every day, it’s important to disinfect each vehicle as it comes in. To ensure the safety of our staff and other customers, we’re taking action to prevent the spread of COVID-19 with protocols and methods suggested from provincial and federal health and safety officials.
With the continuous cleaning we do within the office and our workstations, we increased the frequency of our cleaning and sanitizing. All high-touch surfaces like toilets, phones, electronics, door handles, bedside tables, television remotes, customer vehicles etc. will be cleaned often. We also make sure vehicle keys are disinfected before and after working on the vehicle.
Although we do encourage that our customers disinfect their vehicles before bringing them in, we clean and sanitize some high-touch areas within the vehicle. We pay special attention to the steering wheel, door handles, shift levers, switches and dashboard.
3. Employee & Customer Safety
The safety and health of all our employees and customers are what we care about most. Any team members who have COVID-19-like symptoms will be asked to follow the proper COVID-19 testing and self-isolation practices. All our employees will be wearing disposable gloves when working on vehicles.
