Why Drivers Choose Bemac After an Accident

Ontario roads are busy, and collisions are common: the province’s Preliminary 2024 Road Safety Report recorded 50,946 vehicles involved in fatal and personal injury collisions in 2024 alone.

But when it’s your car in the shop, you don’t want to hear about how much a body shop “cares.” You want concrete proof that the repair will be done right.

Here’s ours:

We’ve been repairing vehicles for Ottawa drivers since 1960, and have one of the most advanced auto body facilities in the city, including the largest of its kind in Eastern Ontario.

This facility helps us attract and retain some of the best mechanics and technicians. Our professional staff are I-CAR certified, with some bringing 25+ years of hands-on collision experience. This means expert work done fast.

Every repair moves through the same defined 24-point collision process, from the first estimate through structural work, refinishing, wheel alignment, and a final road test. Nothing leaves the shop until it passes inspection.

This combination of skilled technicians, repeatable processes, and a lifetime warranty is why insurers recommend us and why drivers who want a certified team come to us directly.

Body Shop Services in Ottawa

Most vehicles arrive with a paint problem, rust, or scratches. We handle all of those, along with the full range of collision and cosmetic work:

Paint, refinishing and colour matching

Fading, chips, or a repaint after a repair. We colour-match to your factory finish, so touch-ups disappear. Not sure whether to repaint? We'll walk you through all the considerations of car paint.

Body panel and structural repair

From doors that won't latch to trunks that won't close, we replace and realign panels and repair the frame back to factory spec.

Auto glass repair and replacement

Windshield chips and cracks, repaired or replaced, with sensor recalibration where needed.

Scratch and dent repair

From shopping-cart scuffs to hail dents, we buff, fill, and refinish so the damage is gone, not just hidden.

Rust removal and repair

Salted winter roads are hard on Ottawa vehicles. We stop rust before it spreads and restore the panel. Here's whether fixing a rusty car is worth it.

Paintless dent repair (PDR)

For smaller dents where the paint is intact, PDR reshapes the metal from behind with no filler and no repaint. It's faster and keeps your original finish.

Only the Best Equipment and Products

Great auto body work is only as good as the tools and products behind it, and this is where Bemac’s investment shows.

Here are just a few ways we ensure you get great quality and value

Flexible options for OEM (original equipment manufacturer) car parts.

If you're after only OEM parts, let us know, and we'll provide information on the cost and timelines (if any). We also carry parts by other manufacturers that meet or exceed OEM standards and guidelines.

PPG paints.

PPG offers a great line of paints that not only give you better rust protection, they're also a more eco-friendly choice.

Hunter Win wheel alignment system.

This system allows us to get accuracy that can't be beat when aligning your car's wheels. This is important, as it will help you get better gas mileage, less wear on your tires, better overall handling.

Car-O-Liner.

The unsurpassable BenchRack™️ combines drive-on convenience with a hydraulic lift and removable ramps. The BenchRack™️ systems are designed for any type of unibody or full frame vehicle, from small cars to light trucks, vans and SUVs.

Let us know if you have any questions about our materials or parts.

Working With Your Insurance

If your insurer sent you to us, you’re in good hands: we’re a Direct Repair Program shop, and we’re approved by every Canadian insurance company

That said, it’s entirely your decision which auto body shop you choose to work with. It’s your car, and you get to decide who repairs it, no matter which company you’re insured with or what shop they recommend.

Either way, we take the paperwork entirely off your plate

We handle your insurance claim directly, coordinating with your adjuster, documenting the damage, and communicating updates, so you don’t have to manage it yourself.

Approved repairs can be billed directly to your insurer, and we’ll help arrange a rental or shuttle so you’re not stranded while your car’s with us.

You make one call, and we handle the rest.

Our Certifications & Brand/OEM Expertise

If you drive a newer vehicle, certifications aren’t a nice-to-have. They’re the difference between a repair that restores your car’s safety systems and one that compromises them.

Bemac is I-CAR Gold Class certified, the highest training recognition in the collision industry, including the I-CAR Gold Class Aluminum designation

Aluminum-bodied vehicles can’t be repaired in the same bay with the same tools as steel-bodied vehicles. Welding, panel bonding, and even dust control are different. This means our team is trained and equipped to repair these vehicles to the manufacturer’s standards, so everything performs as it should when your vehicle is back on the road.

On top of that, we hold 15+ manufacturer certifications, we can source OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts when your repair calls for them, and we’re a member of the Collision Solutions Network (CSN), a group of 270+ collision facilities across Canada. We’re also CAA-approved and hold an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the damage, the parts your vehicle needs, and your paint finish, so there’s no flat rate. A minor scratch or small dent is a modest job, while structural collision work costs more. The fastest way to know is a free estimate.

Small cosmetic jobs can turn around within a couple of days, while a larger collision repair takes longer, especially if we’re waiting on parts or insurer approval. We’ll give you a realistic timeline with your estimate and keep you posted if anything changes.

Yes. We’re approved by all Canadian insurers; we coordinate with your adjuster, document the damage, and bill approved repairs directly to your insurer. You have one conversation with us, and we take care of the rest!

You’re welcome to request a quote online anytime, and you can drop in for an estimate during business hours. Booking ahead means we can have someone ready to look at your vehicle the moment you arrive.

Every repair carries a lifetime warranty on our craft and refinishing, honoured across the CSN network for as long as you own the vehicle. It doesn’t cover rust caused by Ottawa’s road salt, which no shop can honestly guarantee in this climate.

We offer flexible options, including OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts, and we’ll recommend what’s right for your vehicle and your repair. Your insurer’s policy can affect which parts are covered, and we’ll walk you through it.

Yes. We hold the I-CAR Gold Class Aluminum designation and 15+ manufacturer certifications, so we’re trained and equipped to repair aluminum-bodied and newer vehicles, including recalibrating the safety and driver-assistance systems built into them.

We have dealt with BEMAC on Clyde Ave. for over 6 years now for all our vehicle repairs and issues. They are courteous, honest, very knowledgeable staff from the garage to the reception. we get our vehicles back like if was just off a lot and always with a smile, but most importantly we never have to back, the repairs are done right the first time.

Choosing the Right Ottawa Auto Body Shop

Some shops cut corners to keep costs down and the insurer happy. Others earn insurer approval simply because they do outstanding work, so a little research pays off.
Bemac is approved by all Canadian insurance companies, which lets us streamline the claims paperwork and get your car back sooner without compromising the repair.

Do your homework before you commit to an auto body repair. Check reviews on Google, Yelp, and the Better Business Bureau, and look for make- and model-specific repair forums where members recommend local shops.

Don’t take every review at face value: a thoughtful, well-written review tells you more than a one-line rant, and even the best shops get the occasional bad day. Positive word-of-mouth from family and friends counts, too.

Look for a shop that’s clean, well laid out, and staffed by experienced professionals with up-to-date equipment. At Bemac, you’ll find large, state-of-the-art facilities, the best equipment, and top talent, some with more than 25 years of experience repairing car bodies.

Ask plenty of questions: the paint and parts they use, how many coats of paint and clear coat they apply, whether they carry fire and theft insurance, how long they’ve been in business, and what certifications their technicians hold.

While you’re there, ask to see vehicles they’ve already repaired. On a quality job, you shouldn’t be able to tell the repaired panel from the rest of the car. An in-person visit also helps you trust your gut: a shop that never seems busy may be one customers are staying away from.

Don’t rely on verbal promises. Get the estimate in writing, and don’t just chase the lowest quote: make sure you’re getting the quality you’re comfortable with. Bemac makes this easy with online estimates.

Send us photos of the damage, and we’ll give you a rough repair cost, keeping in mind that new issues can surface once the work begins.

Every reputable shop should warranty its work. Manufacturer warranties on parts are voided if those parts are installed incorrectly, so confirm the estimate includes a warranty on the shop’s own labour. The best shops offer a lifetime warranty, as we do.
